Hi,
I am originally from Venezuela but have been living in the Northeastern United States for more than 25 years. However, I have always felt proud of my culture and where I came from. I have always felt attracted to color: bring colors in the spring and summer, and muted colors in the fall and winter. I enjoy each season as each offers beauty in its own way.
I am a software project manager by day, but I am a hobby artist in my spare time. I saw my mom create beautiful nature oil paintings when I was little and I said to myself I wanted to do that one day.
Although oil painting is not really in my interest, I have been drawn to colored pencil art. I have been doing tutorials for a few years now and I have taken online lessons to learn different techniques. However, all of my work has always been based on tutorials where I have been given the colors to use and how to layer them, but I never really understood how the artist came to the conclusion of using those colors.

That is why I am here, I want to learn how to choose the right colors for my composition (I like to draw realism), and then how I can change those colors to best transfer the feeling of the piece to the audience.
