Hi Albert
My name is Mark Saunders. I was born in New Zealand, lived in Melbourne, Australia until I was 18, then moved back t0 Auckland, New Zealand. I had wanted to be a cartoonist since I was 4 years old and pursued it with a passion. My family was relatively poor so there was no artistic tuition or art school. Actually, my parents and teachers never really expected I'd make a career out of my gift, but I knew I would. In 1989 an animation studio was established in Auckland led by a master of Disney animation and student of Walt Disney's original nine old men, John Ewing. With have the passion to establish my own studio, I pursued many different business opportunity and developed intellectual property. I aligned myself with community theater for two decades (great times) and was able to practice my craft there in many different areas. I've always has a passion for education and how art can inspire and remove barriers to learning for both adults and children. Albert, your artwork has inspired me.
