I am a maker, though it took me a while to figure this out. I have always loved creativity. Drawing, painting, photography, building things. A lot of that got put aside while I was raising my daughter. Once she entered high school (she’s now a Doctor of Occupational Therapy) I began creating again. I mostly concentrate on textiles and illustration. The illustration has led me to designing fabric which I love but am not very good at. My cover photo for this profile is the shop banner for my store on Contrado where I have applied some of my art onto their products to sell.
I also am a self taught needle felter, and I am pretty good at that. To me it’s am amalgamation of drawing, painting and sculpting. Most of work is inspired by the natural world.
I am an avid photographer (iPhone) and really have a thing about clouds and skies. Really.
I live in a tiny town near the coast of Virginia. Our house was built by my husband’s ancestors in 1690 and our children are the 10th generation to have lived here.
