Lee Frost

I've always loved working on art, but felt like it was my brother's world. He was the artist and I was the writer, and we had a lifetime of projects planned together. He died in an accident 30 years ago and I'm in my 50s now. I participated in the Brooklyn Art Library Sketchbook Project in 2018, and started to gain a bit of confidence in doing art. The sketchbook I worked on made a brief appearance at the Institute of Contemporary Art, but it was then later destroyed in a fire at the facility where it was being stored. After a series of recent medical problems that left me bedridden for two years, I started doing art therapy, and it's been soothing as much as it's been inspiring. I don't think my brother would want me to not do art because I feel like I'm not good enough, so I'm embracing it now, with the help of these courses.
