I’ve always been looking towards the contemporary art world for inspiration. I went to fashion school and then on to study Art History, English and Political Science. Now, I do something completely different job wise, but drawing, sewing and painting have always been a way for me to feel good and cope with the challenges of my stressful job. I work as a trainer of longtime-unemployed people in a socio-economic NPO in Austria. It’s a different kind of creative work... building up people's confidence and self worth by working with them and leading by example.
I love contemporary art, slow-fashion and crafts, creating content for a community radio station in Innsbruck and doodle and paint my way to relaxation. To me, drawing and painting are meditative activities by which i can just zone into the flow. I do not like to share my work, just because I am lazy and my job is all about performance and pretty tightly wound. So I rarely finish sketches I've started... and I don't like to share unfinished anythings. But I'll try to show some and I'm sure seeing one's own progress can be quite rewarding.
I want to draw more, sew more, paint more... so I figure this is a good place to start again.
