Hello!
My name is Kari, and I am an artist located in British Columbia, Canada.
I grew up in a family of creative trades people and my primary specialties are in fine art and its history, digital design and colour theory. In 2014 I became a mom and thats when life changed!
I began knitting, and then crocheting. For 6 years now I've been making garments and producing hand crafted items for my family. In this phase of my journey I am expanding my horizons by combining my art forms, everything my mom and my grandmother taught me growing up and I've just begun to prototype some original products I plan to provide under my business - Keystone Grove.
I see our world moving into the creative universe, timeless classics come back and reminding us what our true roots, passions and cultures are. To me, the most important parts of life - that I believe so many others deserve - is Home, Health, Humanity and Hope. We are all different but these four aspects to our lives are the pillars to our potential. I believe that if we can create this for our loved ones (or for ourselves/eachother) we can truly make a huge difference in our world.
As a grassroots girl, i'm very keen on supporting local businesses, and others with the same sense of community support we all need. I see the strife that free trade faces, and I'm constantly spinning my wheels thinking of ways to make others aware of it.
Right now I'm beginning a path of discovery in the art of embroidery and I am excited to combine it with the rest of my work. With everything I use in my trades, I am conscious of where it comes from, how it is sourced and where it can be taken to new levels. I am a very particular person, so 100% organic eco friendly solutions are what I look for, and try to create.
Its definitely hard to be original these days and to keep up with the fast paced world we live in. Thankfully more and more people are taking the time to appreciate the little things that last, and thats where we really help each other.
