My educational background is design and architecture and business management. I grew up in Cebu City, Philippines where I got interested in flower arrangement. I took some basic Ikebana lessons when I was in high school and with my lessons, I made flower arrangements all over the house from the living room, buffet table, dining table, altars and even in the bedrooms. After college, I worked in Makati, got married in Manila, and moved to the US in 2006 I didn't have the chance to revive my love for flowers since family and work were my priorities. Now that I am in my senior years I went back to my love for flowers. I buy fresh flowers in the market, make some basic arrangements and since the flowers are too expensive here in NYC, I dry them! That way I still enjoy the beauty of the flowers at its dried stage. From the course, I would like to learn the types of flowers that are good and stable for dried arrangements, the vessels suited for dried flowers and learn to make large dried installations that will act like an architectural element in an interior or exterior space.
