Isaac Gorres

I am a US-born multimedia studio artist, freelance curator, and microbiologist living in the Netherlands. For my undergraduate education, I double majored in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Art History with a minor in Studio Art at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Currently, I am studying for an MSc in Biology with a Specialization in Environmental Microbiology at Radboud University in Nijmegen, Gelderland. My body of work synthesizes the diverse aspects of my education, referencing geology, botany, aquaculture, artificial intelligence, and microbiological concepts.

From 2020-2021, I curated "Path to Paradise: The Artistic Legacy of Dante's Divine Comedy" at the Rollins Museum of Art (formerly the Cornell Fine Arts Museum). "Path to Paradise" aimed to trace the legacy of Dante's work through time, featuring works by artists such as Salvador Dalí and Baccio Baldini after Sandro Botticelli paired with archival texts from the Archives and Special Collections at Olin Library. The exhibition, which was on display from May to August of 2021, can be viewed in its entirety here: my.matterport.com/show/?m=MtdWqDEyf2t
