My name is Graceina. You can call me Graceina, Grace, or Gray! Feel free to Google my last name too. Samosir is an island in Indonesia.

I'm a curious person with an art practice that is currently based in Ottawa. I love to make marks with wax crayon, ink, graphite, charcoal, pastels, gouache, oils, you name it! So much so that I'm trying to not draw waaay past my bedtime. Drawing is habitual for me. Firstly, it helps me process my thoughts and my surroundings. It also allows me to narrate and be engaging. As an exercise of self-introspection, it is both a form of creative problem-solving and therapy. Lastly, it gives me room for humour, intuitive playfulness, and experimentation. Among other things!

Side note: when it comes to art, I like to learn the rules to bend them and then merge different genres or approaches together. It can get chaotic.
