I'm a maker and a musician. As a maker I stitch, I weave and I crochet - more of the first two than the latter. A a stitcher my favourite forms are blackwork, cross stitch and variations on satin stitch. As a weaver, I've done backstrap weaving, tapestry, tablet and inkle weaving. My latest learning is working on a rigid heddle loom and also on a four-shaft loom. My music is a break from making. I play several kinds of flutes - for pleasure and for learning. When I'm not making or playing, I'm reading, exercising and walking the dogs.
