I am retired and two years ago we finally moved to a house in the countryside (which I have wanted to do my whole life!). Many years ago I did a first degree in Scientific Illustration and Graphic Design (in the days before computers were just starting to be used, but not on my course). I worked as a book and magazine illustrator (botanical, animal and medical) for a few years before having my kids, then we lived in France and I stopped work. Never found much time as they were growing up, then later I worked full time as designer in our printing business. Now I have retired and mostly do photography as a hobby and do activities that revolve around my 3 dogs!
I am doing this course as I want to be challenged to work in a much looser way than I am used to for my illustration work which was very tight and detailed (I worked mostly in watercolour, pen and ink or pencil).
