Incredible course and a really fun technique I never new about. Melissa Castrillón is a superb artist. The windows into worlds that she creates are surreal and yet comforting, awe-inspiring, thrilling and back to comforting. I just ordered almost all the books she's illustrated, and of course her own Mighty Min and The Balcony. - Thanks for sharing your creativity, Melissa!

I found this course wonderfully inspiring, and a thorough and complete exploration of the detailed steps that go into planning and creating a picture book. I learned a lot and will be reviewing several parts. The presentation was clear and the demonstrations showed exactly what I wanted to know. Well thought out. An excellent step by step tutorial. The supporting material was more than complete and was both informative and entertaining. A really great course!

Lovely course

Thank you Melissa for sharing your experience. It was useful and easygoing course with a lot of information.

This course is so fun, I've been loving learning about composition and how picture books work, finding out the parts of the book, e.g. the 'gutter'. I also like Melissa's printmaking approach which I've not tried before so it's fun to make a piece of work in layers rather than all at once.

Melissa has a really academic approach to teaching which I really like because the unit tasks she gives makes you analyse why and how a good picturebook spread is made.

Melissa has such a great eye for composition and colour palettes, I'm learning a lot from her.
