I really hope the teacher is planning to create more courses around nonfiction picturebooks / writing nonfiction for children, it is very hard to find good courses on this subject.

I came across this course exactly when I needed it. I have now sent off my proposal and am eagerly waiting to hear how they will respond.

In the past I have only ever been purchasing picture books based on the beauty of their illustration, never based on the story itself. So I wrongly concluded that the illustration is all that counts. For me, this course was a revelation, particularly on how a creative combination of facts and storytelling can take picture books to a whole different level. Isabel Thomas shares this process in an inspiring way which is easy and exciting to follow. Fantastic course!

Over the last year, I have taken two similar courses; one from the Highlights Foundation, and one from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Neither course lived up to their respective brands. This Domestika course has been stellar. Isabel Thomas takes learners on a ride through her creative process. She talks to her students in the recorded format; she interacts with students within her course community. She encourages. She celebrates. She is genuine. I highly recommend this class.

This has been such an enjoyable course! I have always wanted to explore making Picturebooks, but wasn't totally committed. I, for whatever reason, never thought about children's nonfiction as a picture book outlet! Thanks to Isabel's obvious and contagious passion for the subject, I'm excited to start planning my own nonfiction picture book!

Really enjoying Isabel's course. Her style presenting each video is very clear and breaks down each section so very easy to follow. The templates and resources to download are going to be really helpful. Would definitely recommend this course.

The course is practical and inspiring, and the instructor is thorough, informative and engages regularly with her students.
