I am a jewellery designer - maker based in Manchester uk. I work in metal and mixed media, paper, rulers and stones. I also create collage using old and new papers in an abstract geometric way.
I am taking this course as I have left behind drawing skills since I began my career. I draw shapes when I design but it’s pretty basic and mostly I design in the metal. I’ve been making jewellery for sometime and everything I do evolves around it, because I love it, but it’s time to develop my drawing skills which I never intended to leave behind. I want to do it for fun, as a side interest, and ultimately if it can feed into my work then even better. If it doesn’t that’s ok too. I just want to develop my skills, find my style and fill lots of sketch books!
My jewellery is based on everyday life which is perfect for drawing too. I’d like to draw people but also old objects that inspire my jewellery. And I’d like to use mixed media.
