Carolina Mas Faus is a digital painter born in Muro de Alcoy, Alicante in 1994. Her book-loving mother sparked Carolina’s curiosity in fantasy and horror stories, which triggered her fascination for monsters and fantastic creatures both in books and films. She cultivated her interest throughout teenagehood and further developed it after enrolling in a Fine Arts Degree and later in a Master’s degree in Artistic Production. During her university years she learnt the basic notions of drawing and painting which she then applied to digital media.
Carolina’s artwork is bold and demonstrates a unique, acid humoured-filled shocking style. Her paintings do not give in to current trends and she is fearless in her portrayal of the uncomfortable truths of present-day society. Her drive is her own conscience, as she is a very introspective and reflexive person that likes to apply critical thinking to everyday matters.
Carolina is a regular illustrator for the Valencian literary magazine Gargots and for the videogame Legends of Eternalia. Moreover, she has participated in Monsa Publication's book When we were young and is also working as a cover artist for Ediciones Saco de Huesos, where she illustrated the cover for the book El hombre sin alma, by Manuel Díez Román.
She has also been the co founder and co director of the animation studio Dumb Frame, where she was in charge of the concept art, scripts and social media.
Carolina lives and works in her hometown, surrounded by the books and places that inspired her from an early age.
