Anna Lau

It was always my childhood dream to be an artist so I studied art and also teaching, as I also wanted to work with children. I became a full time Primary School teacher with not enough time to develop my own art.
After starting a family I became a supply teacher, which gave me more time to devote to my own family and my hobbies. Then during lockdown I rediscovered my passion for art (I couldn't work so had lots of time!) and ever since I have worked on building up my own art business and I make a little money from doing pet portraits and greetings cards. I'm back to doing supply too. I've been asked to do portraits of people recently, so need to improve my skills of getting a likeness with facial features.
I've also found that I can get stuck on detail and rely too much on photographs. I want to become more expressive and looser in style and use my imagination more
