During COVID I came up with theme weeks based around movies or books in order to keep things fun and interesting not only for my family but also for myself. Being a stay-at-home-mom can get tricky when it comes to the monotony of planning dinners. You start to realize that you are making the same things every week (in one form or another) and it can get extremely boring. When the whole world is shut down and you are literally stuck at home, a little fun when it comes to dinner time is definitely needed for everyone. My cookbook is going to be about that experience and will be 5 chapters with 7 recipes in each chapter (one for each night of the week). The movies each meal are themed after are Disney movies that were favorites of my daughter when she was little (she is 16 now) so there was not only fun food but nostalgia as well and I was able to throw in some family recipes too. I am hoping that if I were to publish that my cookbook could be an inspiration to other SAHM's who are looking for new and fun ways to feed their families.

TUESDAY DINNER
Heroine: Rapunzel
Movie: Tangled (2010)
Pasta with ground turkey ✦ Homemade vodka tomato sauce ✦ Braided breadsticks
Rapunzel: “I’ve been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it’s not everything I dreamed it would be?”
Flynn Rider: “It will be.”
Rapunzel: “And what if it is? What do I do then?”
Flynn Rider: “Well, that’s the good part I guess. You get to go find a new dream." -Tangled (2010)
The magically long-haired Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but when the charming Flynn Rider, a thief on the run, stumbles upon her, she takes the frying pan by the handle and the two set off on an adventure to discover the world for the first time, and who she really is.
Our dinner tonight is inspired by Rapunzel's magical hair. After last night's labor intensive meal I wanted something easy and figured this was it. Even though the sauce is homemade, it is still super simple and you can make it ahead of time, put it in a jar and refrigerate until ready to use.

J'adore l'idée d'inventer des dîners basés sur les protagonistes des films Disney !! Très amusant et original.

Je reprendrai l'idée des pâtes lorsque je lirai l'histoire de Raiponce à mes élèves.
