Susan Potter

Primarily self taught, I have found a daily practice of art making is both soothing and rewarding. My focus remains collage, taking inspiration from our travels, friends’ photos and other artists. My favorite collage artists are Hilla Rebay and Miriam Shapiro.
On a personal level, I am a retired nurse, married, with one son, living in a lovely suburb close to Providence, RI. I am taking this course because I have made a series of bird watercolors that I wish to present in book form. Although I have great respect for sewn handmade books, I would like to explore a different binding method. I plan to use monoprint I have made as background papers.
