Anim Redjecoutay

I have been a working artist for 40 years, with an 8 year apprenticeship. 4 years in glass art; kiln-fired-painted, stained glass church windows - Glass fusion and sandblasted carved glass. 4 years abstract painting and murals.

In the last 15 years I have been working independently out of my studio as an abstract artist, and currently I am enrolled in a tattoo school in Switzerland.

I am inspired by a few genera of tattoo styles, which are Tribal, Neo-Tribal, Neo-Traditional, Neo-Japanese and Blackwork, leaning towards the demonic - Which brings me to my past as a young man who discovered Black metal and Satanic rituals, during that time I spent a great deal of time draw dark demonic scenes of the collapse of industrial civilization, but all that work went up in flames, about 25 years ago an ex-lover burnet down my studio. So discovering tattoo has inspired me to restart my adventure in the Demonic...

My birth name is Kerry Martin Agecoutay, i use Anim because it is short for Animoosh which means dog in Ojibway and name that was giving to me by my Ancestors, and Redjecoutay is a combination of my mothers last name, Redwood and my fathers last name Atjecoutay.
