Free Patterns for Making your Own Dress

Start making your own unique clothes with the patterns and size guide shared by dressmaker Juliet Uzor
Juliet Uzor (@julietuzor) is a self-taught dressmaker who is passionate about showing others how to make bespoke sewn outfits. Creating your own clothes with a sewing machine is a powerful skill. It’s an opportunity to free yourself from the fast fashion industry by making unique clothes that fit your body type.
In her course, she teaches you how to create a unique, made-to-measure dress from scratch; how to operate a sewing machine, moving from the basics to creating the final finishes for your garment. She starts by preparing the pattern for a dress and teaches you how to identify the correct size to cut.

In this resource, you will find printable dress patterns for all sizes that you can use when cutting out your fabric. There is also a size chart to follow when matching your bust, waist, and hips measurements that will help you identify your pattern.

What is pattern?
A pattern is something that can repeat itself an infinite number of times: an image that we can apply to any surface infinitely. The basic element that is repeated is known as the rapport: this is the image or tile that is reproduced.
Juliet suggests you use one of many websites that will send you your downloaded patterns printed in the right paper format. You can then cut them out and use them as you wish.
