Hi! I’m Sara Vidal, Spanish and English philologist, Publishing Translator MA student and videogame localisation specialist.
Being native does not mean you are an expert on your langauge. Being a translator does not mean you replace one word for another. However, a deficient text (in any format, in any language) means losing oportunities. Any project needs a language specialist.
Thanks to my education and experience, I can perform the following duties:
📝Orthotypographic and style proofreading of Spanish originals
✏️Creative writing
💻Text edition and layout
📚Translation (Literary/Publishing Translation specialisation EN>ES)
📝Proofreading and edition of translations
🎮Videogame localisation EN>ES (dialogues, ingame text, game guides, manuals, and related content)
In addition, I know how to use CAT tools and other translation/edition professional softwares and programmes: Memsource, Trados SDL, memoQ, Adobe InDesign, Excel, Word, CaptionHub… and I am a quick-learner.
Something else about me? I’m an extremely curious person who enjoys learning new things, and if I had to pick one adjective to describe me, it would be ‘creative’. While I strive to keep learning as a professional, I also pursue my personal projects: I write short stories collections, poetry, and comic scripts. Some of my favourite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, mystery and horror.
Quality and creativity are part of my personal brand.
