My obsession with art and design started at a young age. As a child I loved to draw the faces and animals around me and always preferred the creative part of any school project. When working on book reports my mother would often have to remind me to focus on the report itself rather than spending all my time drawing the cover. After high school, I decided to pursue graphic design as a career and have never looked back.
While I had always envisioned myself working at a big agency in a large city, my first design jobs all included freelancing and working in small, 2–3 person design studios during which I got to experience all parts of a project from start to finish. I now realize I prefer that style of work and now operate a sole-proprietorship which has allowed me complete control and flexibility over my schedule and types of projects to take on.
After slowing down my business over the last 5 years to focus on raising my two young boys, I'm excited to take some courses to reignite my creative spark and build back some design momentum in my career.
