Sioned Sova-Jones

Biog:
I am primarily a theatre maker but came to painting through being a regular model for the Hesketh Hubbard Society at the Mall Galleries, at the London Sketch Club and for prestigious ROI artists (Chloe Chloerty, Clarissa James & Guy Portelli) where I learned much about the practice of Painting and Drawing. I shared studios with Clarissa James, Victoria Hallenius and Jamie Zubairi, and studied in workshops with Tom Coates, Sally-Ann Puttman and Elaine Kazimierczuk. I work primarily in Oils and Watercolours painting Landscapes and Abstracts but I enjoy creating in any media. I am also a keen Ceramicist & Textile artist using Crochet, Japanese Boro and Shibori Indigo techniques. I have contributed to numerous exhibitions and open studios and have had 3 solo shows, 'Debut', 'Common Ground' and 'Heads of State' which celebrated a performance of 'Oedipus' I was part of at the National Theatre, for which the cast, (including Ralph Fiennes) modelled, and the series was exhibited in the NT Green Room. I'm a fan of close tones and pattern. With creative partner, Jamie Zubairi, I've had joint exhibitions, created a stage piece with live painting - “Expectations”, and I assist in running Thamesmead Life Drawing weekly online classes.
