I have been drawing and painting since the end of 2016. I was inspired following a holiday in Europe where we visited The Van Gogh museum and Rembrandt's house in Amsterdam, Monet's home in Giverny, Leonardo Da Vinci's home in the Loire Valley, France, Street artists in Bruges, and the Picasso museum in Barcelona. Main medium is watercolour. During the last 6 years I have also experimented with charcoal, pastels, colour pencil, acrylics, line and wash. I have not settled on any particular 'style', but am just enjoying the process. Urban sketching using line and wash is of interest. I have now done some graphite landscape drawings from the pictorialist Leonard Misonne. I have also done a few portraits using pencil, charcoal and pastel pencils. I have completed one workshop with Carne in June 2021 and enjoyed the mixture of structure and fluidity in the process, hence the reason to do another with Carne.
