My name is silke, I am a sociologist and about a year ago I moved from Berlin to rural Switzerland. 

Since the first lockdown, I've been keeping a sketchbook and experimenting with different styles, media and techniques. I mainly fill my sketchbooks with exercises based on reference pictures.
Now I want to find my own voice and take my sketchbook out "into the field" and capture the world around me. I would like to keep some kind of visual and verbal field notes with sketches of everything I discover and observe here in my new natural and social environment.
What I would like to learn is how to translate the 3D world onto a piece of paper - my brain needs to grow quite a few more synapses for this task. I also want to improve technically and find an efficient and reliable way to capture my experiences and bring across a story without having to carry around too much stuff.
