A bit about me and the wild rodeo we call life! I was raised on the great prairies of Canada. From the age of 5, you could find me sketching the local wildlife and farmyard animals. Cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, muskrats, cats, dogs, I drew it all. At the age of 23, with just a suitcase in hand I moved to the UK to start a new crazy adventure as a classroom teacher.
As a life long learner and nature enthusiast, I find great inspiration in my garden or walking the fabulous shores, canals and forests of the UK.
I am constantly evolving my skills and have dabbled in many creative mediums:
oil
acrylics
encaustic wax
watercolour
lino prints
Illustrator/Photoshop
metal smithing
I am always learning new ways to bring my ideas to life. Each medium has it’s own incredible characteristics. It is impossible to pick a favourite! I started to venture into the world of metal work 8 years ago. I thought working with metal would be cold, but it is so warm and fluid. As my skills increase I am able to do incredible things using fire and heat to shape it!
It has been most recently that I have found a great love for surface pattern design, after attending the Make it in Design classes lead by Rachael Taylor, Beth Kempton and the MIID team. This new found love has given me a way to transform my hand drawn creations into a format that can be applied to products across homewares, textiles and paper goods.
Wishing you a life full of creative adventure!
