With these designs I thought about what connected all of the Brontë's together, both in terms of their work and their careers as writers. All of their novels feature female characters who have identities, behaviours and desires which exist in tension with what their contemporary society expects of them as women. Even the Brontë's themselves, who had to publish under male pseudonyms, found their creativity and professional careers at odds with a literary industry that barred female participation.
I wanted to capture this tension with two versions of each female protagonist on every cover; one that is visually vibrant, and the other that is more controlled, subdued and traditional.

Teacher PlusThese are very nice. I wouldn't change very much except I am not sure why the random Italics and some of the type aligns along the edge of an image an other times not. Just something to think about.
One thing I don't think is working are the spines. Although interesting they are a challenge to read. In a bookstore there will be many editions of these books shelved with the spine out. You would not want to miss any potential readers due to illegibility.
Did I ever comment on your Beckett covers. Sometimes Domestika bit does not alert me to new work. They are very nice.
