Badger in the woods.

This has been a great class and the first one on Domestika that I have actually completed a project for.

I had lots of different ideas for the nature scene, from wild animals, to farm animals, but decided on woodland as that is the environment I am the most familiar with but don’t actually draw much of.

Composition is something I struggle with a lot so this class has helped me push my skills and understand layout a bit more. There’s still a way to go but I feel proud of this effort. Colour blocking was a good lesson so I applied that and when I was getting bogged down with atmospheric lighting I decided to come back to basic colour and work on lighting another time and just finish the project.

I think that next time I will look at the styling of the overall piece a bit more as the badger is quite detailed and realistic but then some of the other elements are quite flat and stylised.

Overall, I am really pleased with this project.
