I would like to say thank you to the instructor, this was a very fun course. My husband had to take a trip to New Orleans for work and I decided to go with him. I had a couple of days to walk around the city on my own and I figured it was the perfect time to bring my sketchbook. I did not adopt all of the techniques that were taught, but I found so many helpful and enjoyed trying them out. I still have plenty of practice ahead of me, but I'm so happy I learned how fun urban sketching can be.
I do really love the time limit that this gives you on fully completing a page. However, I'd like to add a note for any other women (may be worth noting for the instructor in the course) that it's totally okay to take pictures of things and move to safe area before completing your sketch/painting. There were so many things I wanted to paint around the city, but couldn't even sit down and start to plan out my drawing before being approached by strangers and given unwanted attention. I know New Orleans isn't known for its safe streets and I was aware of that, but just a thought for women. I took pictures with my phone of everything I wanted to paint, from every angle, the began my painting in a safe cafe somewhere near.

Also... no dinosaurs, but upon the insistence of my 6 year old daughter, we have this Godzilla toy.

I love all the topics you painted. please, keep sharing here your next sketching journeys, it will inspire all of us.
I am sorry if you feel unsafe while sketching in the street, most of my sketching girl friends don't have troubles while sketching alone in the street…
