Pratim was a journalist with The Telegraph newspaper for over a decade, writing primarily about films. His first screenplay Vanish was selected for the first NFDC Screenwriters’ Lab that took place at the Locarno Film Festival in 2009. His 2012 feature film debut as writer-director, Paanch Adhyay was picked as the New Voice in Indian Cinema at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2012. His screenplay INK was selected for the prestigious Sundance Lab (India edition) in 2013. Shaheb Bibi Golaam, his second film, picked up six trophies at the Filmfare Awards (East) including Best Screenplay. Maacher Jhol, his third film, was an official selection in the Indian Panorama section of IFFI 2018. His films are streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney Hotstar.
