Pia Koch

Hello! I am first generation American (born in Dallas, Tx), from Dutch and German parents, and spent most of my summers in Europe with family, where I learned a lot of crafts to pass the time. I am now an avid gardener, sourdough bread baker, bicyclist, knitter, potter, and chicken/bee/children keeper! I haven't done art since I was a child, but I would like to learn to capture some of the images of our lovely lives in illustrations. I've always enjoyed the rich imagination, use of color, and how genuine children's illustrations are. I also much enjoy the illustrations from The New Yorker magazines, specifically JJ Sempé, who's illustrations I first came across in the book, "Die Geschichte von Herrn Sommer".
