How to Improve Visual Hierarchy
Learn how to organize the information in your designs so that they’re easier to understand, guide the viewer’s eye, and communicate more clearly. There’s a poster in your head right now—maybe you saw it this week—where you didn’t know where to start reading. The title, date, location, logo, and slogan were all vying for attention at the same volume. That’s the most common problem in design: wanting everything to matter at once, which, paradoxically, ends up communicating nothing specific. Visual hierarchy determines what’s seen first, what’s understood next, and what action should be prompted in the end. It doesn’t add elements; it organizes the ones that are already there.
