Hello, I’m Miguel Guerra, a hardworking, imaginative conceptualist who loves to create. I have twenty years of experience as an independent artist. I'm currently taking course in order to improve things like my lighting and my understanding of color which I feel I lack.
My first professional job was a bizarre introduction into the art world. In my late teens, I was an apprentice tombstone artist. It was then that I realized life was too short and I should get my butt back to school. In the end, I studied film at Ryerson Univeristy in Toronto, but my love was illustration and comics. I was able to take the fundamentals of film making – cinematography, camera angles, composition, lighting, color, continuity and proper editing – and apply them to all my art process.
Since then, I’ve worked on everything from book covers and storyboards, character and concept designs, to logos, avatars and custom illustrations for products, posters and t-shirts
