I am Managing/Creative Director of Disorder Ltd an ethical and sustainable slow fashion label and retailer. We opened our first store Disorder Boutique in Birmingham in 1998. Since then we have won many awards and critical acclaim, from many leading figures in the fashion industry, including Mary Portas who said we were the cleverest business she's seen in years.
Our menswear and womenswear designs are renown for being fashion forward and my own original artwork is printed on limited lengths of textiles and all printing is done in the UK. We also source from British milled fabric manufacturers where possible, thus supporting a homegrown independent fashion ecosystem. We believe in slow fashion and are fiercely anti mass production for environmental reasons. All our garments are handcrafted in house with our artisan skilled team, making Disorder a truly 'Made in Britain,' brand.
With academic roots in Fine Art, Politics, Sociology & International Development, me and my wife started our vertically integrated experimental fashion business in 1998. T-shirts & hoodies are made from organic cottons, produced one at a time and are all ethically manufactured from certified factories abroad. We use non toxic printing processes at our printers in Birmingham.
As self taught designers, our designs are intuitive and unconventional, giving it a distinct, ‘Disorder,’ edge. This appeals to those who crave for individuality and quality without having to pay high end prices to express themselves. We offer one of a kind bespoke service where specific requests for alterations, made to measure sizes, colour combinations etc are welcomed on our non-conformist tailored suits, waistcoats, jackets and coats. We had a renowned destination store for 22 years in Birmingham city centre which we have now shut as a response to the pandemic. But ever resourceful we continued trading through our online site and have remained niche and underground. We have now opened up our converted garage studio to our customer base, maintaining the highly exclusive feel that the brand has always had in its DNA.
