My name is Amanda DeShane, I'm a student pursuing a career as an illustrator. Currently I am taking courses at Emily Carr University working towards my illustration certificate. I am also taking courses through Udemy, and here on Domestika. I'm familiar with the publishing industry, having been a self published author for adult fantasy novels and one children's book, in the past, and I have worked for a few minor publishing companies designing book covers for authors. I've been a very realistic artist in the past, so the biggest challenge is converting my style to a more cartoonish/ not as realistic style for children's books. My goal is to learn as much as I can, shape and mold my own style, then build a professional portfolio and start pounding the pavement so to speak.
