Luke Diaz

Hello,
I live in the south of the UK with my partner and daughter. I am currently off work after having surgery which has enabled me to have some free time. I came to Domestika in the hope of getting back into drawing and reigniting my influences in Art and Design.
Outside my work and personal life, I love to climb in and outdoors, from bouldering to lead climbing though not tried trad not ready for that, I love being outside and facing physical fears. I've only been climbing for over 2 years after a friend introduced me to it and I've been hooked ever since. I've always been very active in the past I used to be in the performing arts, play rugby, swim, and run (which is what probably contributed to my injury).
My background is mainly in woodwork, predominantly in Furniture design & craft. I loved my years at school, college, and University. There I was able to unleash my creativity and explore different styles, techniques, and processes of critical thinking. In my final project I came up with an idea of glueless furniture called stitch-wood back in 2011. This was an exploration into how textiles and woodwork can be combined to produce something strong, decorative, and practical to the home, plus gentler to the environment. Sadly, since then I have completely gone off track and lost sight of that creativity, and whilst I have the time to do so, explore and get out of my comfort zone.
