Leland Faulkner

I am a performing artist and a film maker.
I grew up in different countries around the world including Afghanistan, Iran, Kenya, Tanzania, yet I am a Native American. I belong to the Bad River Band of Chippewa Indians. I try to bring these multicultural perspectives to everything I do. Whether I am directing, devising, writing or performing. I have a special fondness for things that communicate universally, like the comedies of the silent film era and the character journeys found in traditional tribal stories.
On stage, I work the full gamut of live performance from comedy to drama using physical comedy, kinetic acting, storytelling, and mythic structure to make original and engaging performances. In the world of film I have created documentaries, client portfolios, original shadow puppet animations, and unique short fiction films. I love exploring how structure can help us map our creative work flow, and plan on writing about the process.
