I am rather new to painting, having just started by chance last year when I picked up a paint brush to help my son decorate his iPad cover. I found I really enjoyed the process and, my teenage daughter, who is a very good drawer, encourage me to sit with her and paint. It was a lovely bonding activity for us. Since then, I have been working with acrylics and my only goal really is to produce a beautiful large abstract painting that I am happy to hang in my own living room. I am not there yet! I have worked as a biologist my whole career and would love to learn how to incorporate into my paintings images of the plants, animals and insects that inspire me.
