Artists Who Broke the Rules of Traditional Art
A selection of creators who challenged academic norms, transformed visual languages and changed the history of art forever. Many of the works that today occupy museums, book covers and indisputable visual references were, at the time, considered strange, uncomfortable, imperfect or directly unacceptable. What we now recognize as genius, in its original context generated rejection, mockery or scandal. The history of art advances precisely like this: when someone dares to question what is considered correct, beautiful, technical, important or worthy of being represented.
