Joe Craig

I was born/raised in rural/suburban Pennsylvania - and I moved to Montana a few years ago to be amongst mountains and solitude. I’m currently residing on Vancouver Island, Canada.

I’ve worked as professional photographer since 2003 around the USA in photojournalism, weddings and other commercial fields as well as maintaining long-term family/portrait/travel personal projects. I have “played/experimented” with watercolor, pen & ink and digital illustration in the past but I’m doubling down (by taking a series of classes and making space in my life to “do the work everyday”) so I can bring these creative paths together in a more powerful and confident way.

I’m really excited about watercolor but have found it’s mysteries elusive and my relationship with it fickle. I’m also excited to create a more disciplined approach to my own artistic passion/practice, to expand out of my “limited” experience within these mediums and ultimately to be able to make art and creative storytelling work my vocation with the goal of creating inspirational, evocative and connective visuals.
