Joan Findley-Perls

I've been drawing since I can remember. My mother was an artist and grew up surrounded by art in the making. I was an environmental design major in college and worked in landscape architecture for several years right out of college. This was before computer drafting. I worked in both graphite and ink. in my 50s I took up oil painting but after about 5 years had terrible artist's block. I couldn't paint anything I liked. I decided to just draw to get over it. I was always comfortable with a pencil. I've been drawing ever since and it is my primary media.
