Jordan K. Walker

Jordan Walker is an award winning landscape painter, illustrator, and teacher based in Eugene, Oregon, and is a member of the Oil Painters of America and the California Art Club. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in 2016. His work has been shown in galleries and museums across the United States, including the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Many of his paintings are held in private collections across the globe.

Jordan spent his childhood roaming through deep woods and rugged coastlines exploring the wonders of the natural world. luckily, he is able to spend much of his adulthood doing the same thing. With painting gear in hand, Jordan hikes through the wilderness of western North America and creates Plein air studies to better understand his surroundings. In the studio, he uses these studies to create dramatic large scale landscape paintings to share his reverence of the natural world with others.

The way light interacts with complicated forms fascinates Jordan, whether it falls over a towering mountain or tiny twig. He takes great joy in arranging still life compositions in his studio to portray light and color on a smaller scale.

While much of Jordan's focus lies in studying the emotional grandeur and scientific properties of the natural world, this helps immeasurably to inform his passion for imaginative work. The worlds of Science Fiction and Fantasy have been close to his heart throughout his life, and over time he's filled dozens of sketchbooks with visions of strange creatures, characters, and environments. Beyond sketches, Jordan works to bring these visions to life through intricate paintings. He has created illustrations for a variety of magazines, print publications, and video games.

Clients include: Monte Cook Games, Ironzog Games, Ramblebine Brewing, 3DTotal Publishing, Graphite Magazine, and 3DTotal.com. His work is also featured in Spectrum 25.
