Vitina Porrett did not start her watercolor journey until late in the year of 2020, after she and her husband Jerry settled into their new home. At that time, Covid was raging and she was looking for something to occupy her time. That is when watercolor caught her interest. Painting in watercolor filled those stuck-at-home covid days. After that it was a little over a year, when Vitina discovered the wonderful and supportive artist community.
Vitina grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods; a suburb of Detroit Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University located in Kalamazoo Michigan, with a degree in business. Craving a way to let her inner artist out, she attended Macomb Community College and graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts. Now that she has found watercolor, she has let her inner-artist out and painting has become her passion.
