Get to know Santiago, learn about his professional experience as an illustrator in different editorial projects and go over a detailed list of his main sources of inspiration.

In the second unit, learn the formal characteristics of a sketchbook: format, binding, type of paper and cover. After that, see how to choose the right sketchbook according to your needs.

Right away, Santiago will teach you the techniques he uses the most, the reason for each one, and how to apply them. Also, you will understand the importance of experimenting with tools, techniques, and how to embrace mistakes.

Then, you will review all the theme possibilities and analyze several existing examples to start drawing in your sketchbooks. You will create a small collection of notebooks, and discover how to identify genres or recurrent themes, as well as introduce yourself to concepts that you can apply to your projects, such as mashup or the crossover sketchbook.

What is this course's project?

An artist’s book that combines the explored visual languages from your different sketchbooks. These notebooks will include work that results from the exercises proposed in the course.
