In this course, Jonathan will teach you all about advertising photographic postproduction, from sketch to final art. From various photographs and an elaborate process of retouching in Photoshop, you will be able to create a high visual impact image to advertise a product.
About this course
You will start the course knowing Jonathan, his history and career as a retoucher, photographer and graphic designer. He will tell you about his tastes and artistic influences.
You will learn his workflow , seeing how he structures projects with the use of the master folder and how he uses Adobe Bridge in his day to day. You will customize the interface and see the action panel.
You will study general concepts about composition and perception. Also, you will learn to interpret the creative concept you receive from the advertising agency and you will go to the reference search phase to create your mood board .
You will receive some guidelines and resources to make your digital sketch, which in a real order must be approved by the art director.
You will proceed to make the final art, preparing the canvas and each of the photos for integration. Then, you will learn the techniques to select and trim the assets .
You will see how to illuminate your composition, modeling the light and enhancing the shapes. Then, you will deepen the visual effects to create drama and depth.
You will finish, finalizing color details in your project, experimenting with adjustment layers and making corrections; you will use the Camera RAW filter. Finally, you will learn to export the image to deliver to the customer.

You will perform the retouching of an advertising photographic piece of the automotive industry, specifically, of a car.

What you need
It is advisable to have basic knowledge of Photoshop (work with layers, selections and masks), although during the course you will see their applications.
On the materials, you will need a computer with Photoshop and access to photographic resources. The use of graphic tablet is recommended, to make your job easier.

Jonathan Chafloque is a graphic designer by profession, although he specializes in creative retouching and photographic postproduction: from advice on capture, to final delivery of the image. He has been a photo retoucher for 7 years, 5 years as a teacher in institutes and training centers, and 2 years dedicated exclusively to advertising retouching. He was one of the 5 winners of the "Adobe 2016 Talent" contest, conducted by Adobe Latin America in which more than 60 artists from different countries participated.
