Introduction to Dog Photography
“You are ready to launch yourself into the exciting world of professional pet photography! I was delighted to accompany you at this stage of your journey and I hope it has served as an inspiration. I encourage you to share your project, tell me what difficulties you have encountered and ask me the questions that have arisen. I will try to answer you as soon as possible. Remember that to complete this final project, you will need: A dog or cat to perform the session. I advise you to be a dog since they are more docile than cats, in general. If you choose a dog, I also recommend that it be small because they are easier to handle. Implement the reward system with sweets. Use noises to get your attention. Touch up your best 5 portraits and share them with the course community. The final delivery of the course is the 5 edited portraits, but feel free if you want to do something else with your portraits. You can create a book, a photocomposition ... whatever you want. You can share it in the forum and so it will also serve us as inspiration. It has really been a pleasure. I will answer all the questions that may arise, but be understanding if at some point I am late in the answers because I am always working in different photographic commissions. A greeting! ”

Santos Román
A course by Santos Román
Santos defines himself as an animal portraitist. After years of taking photos for advertising, he decided to switch to animal photography full-time in 2008. He's collaborated with clients like Affinity, Purina, Cotécnica, Nature's Variety, and Visán, taking unique photos of pets with a fresh, elegant, and fun style that wins over all audiences. Most of his work revolves around dogs, cats, and horses, but he's always looking to explore new territory, such as bird photography.
In addition to his commercial work, he pursues personal projects that dip farther into the art world. He has displayed his photographs in galleries across Spain, like Standarte in Madrid, Setba in Barcelona, and Mediadvanced in Gijón, as well as in the United States, including Rollup in San Francisco and Affordable Art Fair in New York. The aim of his artistic work is to make us reflect on our relationship with animals by giving us a glimpse of their personality through the concept of psychological portraits.
