You will meet Paul, his career as a 3D designer and his focus on augmented reality (RA) filters. He will share his main influences and tell you about what you will learn in the course.

You will start by installing the software Spark AR and take your first steps in it. You will make a theoretical introduction to augmented reality to understand how facial recognition works and the possibilities of software .

You will learn to position 2D elements on the screen, as well as to align, block and adjust them. Then, you will see how to create 3D elements, export them to Spark AR, position them and create occlusions to hide them.

You will deepen the materials and textures, learning to optimize them to reduce the weight of the filter. You will discover the tools to add particle systems to your effect.

You will learn how the visual patches : you will see how to add or remove elements by gesturing by touching the screen; how to change the color to a texture, how to activate animations and generate movements linked to the Face Tracker.

Finally, you will know the requirements and limits of filters to publish on Facebook and Instagram. You will optimize the filter capabilities and create an icon. Then, you will use the spark hub on Facebook to upload, test and approve your filter.
