“Congratulations! We have reached the end of this course! I want to thank you for the trust and time invested in this project. I am very happy that you have decided to join this beautiful family. I hope that during this process I was able to convey a little the way I see the world and what embroidery means to me. Hopefully you have realized all that you are capable of creating and that this has only been a door to a world of possibilities. I hope you had a nice time! I would love to see how you interpret it and learn from you too, so please, don't forget to share your way! I will be on the lookout in the forum also if you have questions or want to share another vision, let's make community! I am sure you will have something very valuable to contribute and not only to me, but also to everyone else In this fast-paced world, returning to the slow processes I consider it a revolutionary act, thank you for joining this movement that always reminds us of the strength behind what is done by hand! Again, thanks for joining me on this path. Special thanks to Julia de la Cruz for helping me embroider all the course material on time! Gabriela Martínez / Ophelia and Antelmo.”

Ofelia & Antelmo
A course by Ofelia & Antelmo
Ofelia & Antelmo is a project created by Gabriela Martínez—designer and textile artist—in 2017 that started out as a contemporary textile art proposal presented in two formats that go hand in hand: textile art and wearable art.
Textile art is the starting point of Gabriela's process, in which she explores all her ideas for colors, textures, stitches, and effects, then seeks to bring them to life in handmade garments with wear-resistant finishes and stitches. Her main motivation is that quality prevails over quantity, and so she creates pieces that can be inherited as a form of protest at the speed at which the world moves today.
