About the final project for: Character Illustration with Acrylic

Character Illustration with Acrylic

“We have reached the end of the course. Now that you are done, it is your time to do the final project. I recommend that you do not use the same one as me, that way you can face your own mistakes and doubts, but above all, you can solve them by seeing all my tips and lessons. I would like to see the process of your illustration step by step. I leave you an example of how I would like to see your final project. Study a little before starting Before starting, analyze how light and shadow act on a three-dimensional object and try to shade with a pencil an illustration or an element that you know will be a fundamental part of your character.

The sketch Think about the character you want to perform. If you already have it, then start your sketch. Take advantage and start putting light and shadow on it.
The first coat Choose a color palette that you think is the best for your work. Prepare your sheet so that it is ready to paint. Start your painting with the first coat; the famous gouaches, so you will be able to have the bases of color.
Final details Give color to your character, you can also highlight the most important of this. Then, lift the relevant volumes with the help of a clear acrylic.
The fund Paint the outline and the background of your figure white, so you can better digitize your project. Finally, varnish your work with gloss varnish, so you will be able to give it a super impressive finish!
Always remember that before starting to paint any illustration you must have an idea of the advantages and disadvantages of each technique and material with which you will work. Each idea and each illustration has a technique with which you can more effectively express your final idea. Acrylic painting is one of the techniques that offer us the most variety of results and ways of working with the material, that is why it is one of the techniques most used by illustrators, but it is not so easy to master from the beginning, so you will need a lot of patience and passion, I'm sure you will! You can even discover different methods and techniques yourself to achieve surprising results in your paintings. Once you have finished your final project and upload it, I will give you a refund of it as soon as possible. I love receiving final works from my students! Remember that you are part of an artists forum and if you like your work to be seen, the rest of your colleagues do too. Comment on their achievements, make contributions and if you have constructive advice for your colleagues they will be welcome! If you want you can share your project on Instagram using the hashtag #ArielOlivettiDomestika. If you have doubts about some of the steps that we have developed send me your comments and as far as possible I will answer you. See you soon! ”
