About the video: Search for inspiration and moodboard

Overview

“We may have a clear idea of what we want to design, what we like, and where we want to go. My inspiration is called "Greenhouse." I searched for images of fern leaves on Pinterest and Google. I've included real photos of this plant and some botanical, architectural, and fashion drawings. I'm not just focusing on ferns, but I'm trying to find a general aesthetic to help me decide where my design will go. I recommend avoiding designs and patterns from other designers so as not to create something too similar to another illustrator, but rather images that inspire you to create something of your own. Below you can see my moodboard, which I always keep in mind when drawing. As you can see, I took five colors from my photos. Keep in mind that since I'm using watercolor instead of Pantone, they won't be exactly the same; they may vary. ”

In this video lesson Mónica Muñoz Hernández addresses the topic: Search for inspiration and moodboard, which is part of the Domestika online course: Guided course: Design a pattern without visible repetitions. Learn Design of Continuous Printed without visible repetitions using Photoshop and the Tresbolillo technique.
